What an affiliate link actually is
If I recommend a product, a hotel, or a tour, the link may be tagged so the company knows you arrived from this site. If you buy something, I receive a small percentage. You pay exactly the same price you would have paid otherwise. The commission comes out of the seller’s margin, not your wallet.
Sponsored content, hosted stays, and gifted products
Sometimes a hotel, restaurant, or tourism board hosts a stay or a meal, or a brand sends me a product to try. When that happens, I say so clearly at the top of the post. Every time.
Being hosted does not buy a good review. If a property could not safely feed me, that goes in the post, because a reader with Celiac Disease or Alpha Gal Syndrome making a booking decision based on my word deserves the truth more than the property deserves a favor.
How I decide what to recommend
- I only recommend products I have actually used, or would use, with my own diagnoses.
- I do not accept payment in exchange for a positive review.
- I do not accept paid guest posts or paid link insertions.
- If I stop trusting a product or a property, I update or remove the recommendation.
One important limit
I am not a doctor and this is not medical advice. A product I find safe for my own Celiac Disease and Alpha Gal Syndrome may not be safe for you. Ingredients, suppliers, and manufacturing processes change without warning. Always read current labels yourself, and talk to your allergist about your own situation.
